The DCHS Admin People’s Charter: The admin forum has now been running for a just over a year, with bi-monthly virtual meetings. You can see the summary of last month’s meeting here. The team are looking forward to the in-person admin forum event on 23 April (am) to celebrate National Admin Professionals Recognition Day.
You can book your place here, and over 50 people have already done so. The plan for the morning involves some networking activities, to help attendees make connections with admin colleagues from other teams. There will also be some guest speakers putting on taster sessions for quality improvement and active bystander training. Also you can have career conversations, mentoring and coaching advice from our Leadership Development Team. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Staying vigilant with unknown callers: Receiving calls from unknown numbers has become increasingly common, but it's important to stay vigilant. Many scammers use this method to try and trick people into revealing confidential/personal information. If you receive a call from an unfamiliar number, it’s essential to pause and consider whether the call is truly legitimate before acting.
Be especially cautious if the caller pressures you for certain details e.g. names of staff. Legitimate companies and organisations will never ask for such information without providing a legitimate reason or their own name first, especially if you didn't initiate the call. If something feels off, trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to hang up and call the organisation back using a trusted phone number.
Always take the time to verify unknown calls before sharing any information.

Extending the reach of Quality Conversations: Our Quality Conversations team has been working with Chesterfield Royal Hospital to increase uptake of QC training in the acute sector. Tracey Elder and Sandra Hicken led a project to explore barriers and solutions to help improve uptake of the training by CRH colleagues which resulted in a significant increase from five to 114 CRH attendees over the course of the project. Staff from CRH now make up 4.39% of our total participants (compared with initial rate of 0.1%).
