Research celebration events: Our research and innovation team recently hosted two successful research celebration events in Chesterfield, which attracted more than 60 people. The events were for the public to hear the findings of a DCHS-led project, looking at how to ensure under-served communities are included in health research. The research was conducted by Tracey Elder and Victoria Davison who were in attendance at both events. The majority of attendees were people from the community with some interested professionals.
The team received some lovely feedback, one attendee said: ‘Tracey arranged for a taxi to pick me up and organised payment so I would not be out of pocket, I couldn’t have attended otherwise, and I really enjoyed taking part in the project’. Another said: ‘We were treated nicely with hot drinks and lovely food and comfortable places to sit and chat about the project’. The team was awarded over £57,000 in two grants from the Clinical Research Network/Research Delivery Network to complete this health inequalities project looking at increasing diversity in health research. The DCHS Admin People’s Charter: The admin forum has now been running for just over a year, with bi-monthly virtual meetings. You can see the summary of last month’s meeting here. The team are looking forward to the in-person admin forum event on 23 April (am) to celebrate National Admin Professionals Recognition Day.
You can book your place here, and over 50 people have already done so. The plan for the morning involves some networking activities, to help attendees make connections with admin colleagues from other teams. There will also be some guest speakers putting on taster sessions for quality improvement and active bystander training. Also you can have career conversations, mentoring and coaching advice from our leadership development team.
