National Quarterly Pulse Survey (NQPS): Our next NQPS will go live tomorrow (Tuesday 1 July) and run until Thursday 31 July. Look out for an email from ‘picker_surveys@picker.org’ in your inbox to complete your survey. It only takes a minute or two to complete and it’s a valuable way to let us know about your wellbeing. Your voice matters — especially in today’s climate — and this survey complements other tools like the NHS Staff Survey to help us listen and support you better.
If you have any questions about the survey, contact Simon Rose: simon.rose9@nhs.net.
Guidance for updating your email address in ESR: This video has been created to help staff update their email address in ESR. Keeping your ESR email up to date is essential, as important communications related to your pay and training are sent via this system. If your email address in ESR is incorrect, you may miss out on key information such as:
- Payslip notifications
- Training enrolment confirmations
- Microsoft Teams invitations for training sessions
- Alerts about upcoming competency expiries
- Important updates regarding mandatory, Role Specific and CPD training
- Internal communications — many teams rely on ESR to access staff email addresses.
To ensure you don’t miss out on these communications, please watch the guidance video linked below and check that your @nhs.net email address is correctly listed in ESR. Please note, once you submit a change to your email address in ESR, it will not be updated immediately. The change request will be sent to your manager for approval before it takes effect.
If you or your manager require further assistance or are unsure, please contact us at dchst.peopledevelopment@nhs.net and we will support where we can and guide towards other appropriate teams if needs be.

ICB Chair takes whistle-stop tour to see sexual health promotion outreach work:
We were delighted to welcome Dr Kathy McLean, Chair of the Derby and Derbyshire ICB, to join us on a whistle-stop tour of our sexual health outreach work. As a team, we’re incredibly proud of the work we do to bring inclusive, accessible sexual health services into the heart of our communities and it was a pleasure to showcase this first-hand. From visiting the Bosnia Herzegovina Community Centre to sharing stories from our mobile van, we were able to highlight the importance of meeting people where they are. Dr McLean’s visit was a real boost and recognition of the impact of our work. Read the full article here.
Construction progresses on new £15m Belper Health Centre: Recent images reveal the rapid progress being made on the new health centre in Belper which is expected to open to patients next year. With the whole frame of the building in place it is easier to see what it will look like when completed and how it will become a focal point in the local environment along Derby Road. Construction began on site in August 2024, led by Henry Brothers Construction and work has been progressing steadily on the £15 million development.
Designed by Race Cottam Associates, the new facility is being built to high environmental standards and will provide a wide range of healthcare services to the community. Once complete, the centre will house 14 consulting rooms, six treatment rooms, a health education group room, and additional support spaces. Services to be offered at the centre include community nursing, midwifery clinics, podiatry, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, continence care, wound care, and phlebotomy. Watch this space for further updates as the building takes shape in the coming weeks and months.
