Still time to get your flu jab: Flu remains very much with us this winter, and there is still time to get your flu jab if you haven’t already. We’ll be running our vaccination clinics throughout January so please do take the chance to get vaccinated and help protect yourself, the community and those who rely on our services. Find your closest vaccination clinic here.

Microsoft - It’s helpful for admin colleagues to enhance and improve their IT skills and Microsoft training is available.
Copilot and digital systems – Want to know more about AI? Consider how AI can enable admin colleagues to work more effectively and save time doing repetitive tasks to free you up to do more interesting work to really support your teams to embrace technology. Click here. The first session is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12 midday and there are plenty more dates to choose from.
Copilot Chat in the NHS: Tips and tricks for using AI at work. Want to get the most out of Microsoft Copilot Chat? Join these upcoming training sessions to discover tips, best practices and real-world examples to boost your productivity.
Make Copilot Chat work harder for you – free training sessions now available: Did you know that Copilot Chat – Microsoft’s free AI assistant – is already available to ALL staff through the NHS tenancy? To help colleagues get the most from it, Microsoft is running a series of short, practical training sessions starting next week. These sessions are designed to show how Copilot Chat can support everyday work – from drafting content and summarising information, to organising thoughts and saving time on routine tasks. Whether you’re completely new to Copilot Chat or have already had a quick play, the sessions will share tips, examples and best practice to help you use it with confidence and safely in an NHS context. Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis and the sessions are only running for a limited time, so we’d encourage colleagues to take a look and book on as soon as possible. View sessions here. You can also access this beginner’s guide and this summary of tasks which Copilot’s free version can do for you.
Do you want to do an apprenticeship alongside your admin job?: There are some roadshow drop-in sessions during February, which you can attend.
You can also dial in to a monthly career conversation session to get some advice and guidance on how to progress your admin career.
Calling all parents, we need your help!: We’re currently working on producing some new episodes of our Bump in the Road podcast. The podcast acts as a resource for parents during the perinatal period. We’d like to feature stories from parents who are happy to discuss their experiences of the perinatal period. If you know anyone who might be interested in being a guest or if you would like to be a guest to discuss your personal experiences, please contact Charlie Kenyon at charlotte.kenyon10@nhs.net.
The areas we would like to explore are:
- Your overall wellbeing during the time from when your child was born up until they were 1 year old.
- What, if any, challenges did you face.
- What/who helped your wellbeing and mental health during the perinatal period.
- If you were struggling with how you were feeling emotionally and didn’t tell anyone, what stopped you from telling someone?
- Do you feel there was anything extra that could have helped you if you were struggling emotionally during this time?

DCHS brings you an online 2-hour masterclass for all staff to explore how to develop a culture of conversation: You will learn how to have kinder, constructive conversations with emotional intelligence and behavioural flexibility, explore what is happening 'beyond the behaviour’, address barriers and challenges that prevent constructive feedback and much more.
This workshop complements and builds on previous training, as well as the kindness and respectful resolution resources that are available to all staff. Follow the link below to book your place:
Help strengthen STI and HIV screening in primary care: DCHS' Integrated Sexual Health Service is launching a Women’s Health Hub – funded project to increase routine and opportunistic STI and HIV screening in primary care. Early detection saves lives, and GP practices play a key role in improving outcomes. Women and people with a cervix continue to experience disproportionate sexual health harms, including higher impacts from untreated STIs and late HIV diagnoses. We’re asking all primary care staff to complete a short survey to help us understand what support, tools or training would make screening easier in your PCN. Your feedback will shape the project and help us co‑design practical solutions for primary care teams and the communities we serve. The deadline is Friday 30 January 2026. No prior knowledge of research is required and the programme is for all staff (registered and unregistered). Please click here for all the details and registration.
